B.C. Woman Blasts Metallica To Fend Off Wild Cougar

Metallica saves lives.

If you were ever corned by a wild cougar...what would you do?

Simple. Blast Metallica.

That's exactly what a Vancouver woman did, and she's thanking Metallica for saving her life after she fended off a wild cougar by blasting 'Don't Tread On Me.'

On July 23, Dee Gallant was out for her regular evening walk with her 8 year old husky retriever Murphy. The two were on a local loggin trail just outside of Duncan, B.C. when the two spotted a threatening cougar standing 50 feet ahead of them...Staring.

Right about now is when I would probably pee my pants.Yikes!

Thinking on her toes, Gallant waved her arms and yelled at the cougar as it slowly made its way towards them. Gallant then grabbed her phone and quickly pulled up the Black Album to try and scare it off.

She did take a video before turning to Metallica...Watch it HERE.

“I thought it was perfect because it gives him the message that I want to send, and it’s a really intimidating-sounding song. I immediately put it on and I held it up high in the air. As soon as he heard the first note, he bolted. He was just gone." (via Global News)

Despite their close call, Gallant told Global News that her and Murphy continued their walk up the trail. “We stayed in the middle of the road, we made a lot of noise, and I talked to Murphy the whole way."

When asked what she would say to Metallica: “I would definitely give them all a big hug and thank them for saving my life.”
