WATCH: Teen cracks egg on far-right Australian senator

Queensland senator Fraser Anning was hit with an egg while speaking at an event in Melbourne.

It comes after Anning was widely condemned for comments he made on the mosque shootings in New Zealand.

Australia's prime minister and the UK home secretary are just two of many politicians who are strongly condemning Fraser Anning's comments on the mosque shootings in New Zealand.

The independent Australian senator linked Muslim immigration and violence in the hours following the attacks on Christchurch's Islamic community.

Senator Anning said in a tweet: "Does anyone still dispute the link between Muslim immigration and violence?" In a media release, he said "whilst this kind of violent vigilantism can never be justified, what it highlights is the growing fear within our community, both in Australia and New Zealand, of the increasing Muslim presence." "The real cause of bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place."
