Barrie Food Bank gets 'cool' new vehicle
The Barrie Food Bank has received keys to a brand new vehicle yesterday.
Its a refrigerated truck, that the food bank will use to pick up produce and meat and dairy products from local stores, that may have otherwise gone out to the trash.
Food bank director Peter Sundborg says they are trying more and more to provide nutritional options to food bank clients, like poultry, milk, yoghurt and more.
The food bank already has a walk-in fridge and freezer and is expanding that.
The new truck, was provided to the food bank from the Faris Real Estate team, who says it was an easy decision to make.
