Cyber-hackers target Midland

The town of Midland is under attack from cyber criminals.
The town has confirmed, it has become the latest victim of hackers, who are demanding a ransom to get their municipal networks debugged and back up and running.
The town says vital services were not impacted and there is no evidence that anyone's information has been removed or compromised.
The Midland cyber-attack, comes on the heels of a similar one in Wasaga Beach, in the spring, where officials had to pay off the criminals to have their data returned.
No word yet, how much Midland taxpayers will be on the hook for this one.
In Wasaga, between ransom payments and other network costs and upgrades, it has cost them about 250 thousand dollars.
