Man awaiting trial in Barrie dies in jail cell
The sudden death of a man at the Penetang superjail, has brought an immediate halt to a double-murder trial in Barrie. The suspect in the 2016 stabbing murders of 73 year old Allan Mallinson, and his 39 year old son matthew, has died in jail.
Robert Twiss, was 45, and had spent most of three years in custody, facing two counts of first degree murder.
The Mallinson's had allowed Twiss into their Barrie home to stay, but were stabbed to death in January 2016.
