Fatal stabbing in Barrie. Suspect in custody
Barrie's homicide squad is looking into a fatal stabbing, that took place Sunday night at a home on Heather Street, near Noam Drive, in the Riverwood Park area.
After 11 p.m, police got the call to the house, where they found a 21 year old man suffering from serious stabbing injuries. He was rushed to local hospital by paramedics, but was pronounced dead. His name, has not been released.
Police later found a 19 year old male suspect, at a different home, and he's now in custody and being investigated. The investigation continues.

The Barrie Police Service is presently investigating an overnight death after officers responded to a residence located on Heather Street in the City of Barrie.
Police responded to the home last night at 11:18 p.m. where a 21-year old male victim was located suffering from life threatening injuries that appear to have been caused by an edged weapon. The male was transported to a local hospital by the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services where shortly after midnight, he was pronounced deceased.
The ongoing investigation appears to be isolated in nature and is being conducted by the Barrie Police Homicide Unit who are being assisted at the scene by uniform officers and the Forensic Identification Unit.
A short time ago, a 19-year old male was taken into custody and is currently being investigated in regards to this incident.
Residents in the Heather Street and Noam Drive area can expect a police presence to remain until this investigation is complete.
The identity of the deceased will not be released until the conclusion of a forensic post mortem examination which is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS) located in Toronto.
