Fire danger rating HIGH in Muskoka
It seems like just weeks ago, the military was in Muskoka, helping with a generational flooding problem.
Today, officials in Muskoka are posting a high fire danger rating.
There was a brush fire in Gravenhurst yesterday that was contained by 15 firefighters. But a local fire deputy says small fires like that can grow to a very large forest fire quickly in these hot, dry conditions.
He says the fire danger rating could be lifted to extreme, within days.
There is a daytime fire ban in place, while in Tay Township, there is an outdoor watering and burning ban, also due to the recent hot dry spell.
