Simcoe County celebrates Nurses Week

  In honour of the extraordinary contribution of hundreds of compassionate, dedicated and professional nurses, who provide exceptional care in various roles across the region, the County is recognizing the week of May 5 as Nursing Week.

“Nurses have a huge impact in the daily lives and health of countless Simcoe County residents and visitors,” said Warden George Cornell. “Please join us in recognizing nurses for their hard work, passion and dedication.”

The County of Simcoe employs more than 200 professional Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses and more than 375 Personal Support Workers through our Long Term Care and Seniors Services Department, each of whom do an exceptional job delivering care to our residents.

The County of Simcoe is composed of 16 member municipalities and provides crucial public services to County residents in addition to providing paramedic and social services to the separated cities of Barrie and Orillia. Visit our website at
