    2018 Athens Truck Show - presented by the Upper Canada Chapter of the Antique Truck Club of America - Friday August 17th - Saturday August 18th, 2018 - Show is being held at Centennial Park in Athens, otherwise known as the Athens Fairgrounds - Free for spectators!....Friday & Saturday 9am-9pm - Truck Registration starts at 9am Friday and 8am Saturday for those wishing to bring their trucks - This is a truck only show and trucks of all sizes are welcome! - Cost to register a truck is $20.00 for the first truck and $10.00 for every truck after that! - There will be no judging! - Don't miss the slow truck races which are being held at 11am and 3pm Saturday , on the track. At 8:30 pm both Friday and Saturday we will also be hosting a Light Show! - The Athens Lions Club will be offering lunch options while the Brockville Lions Club will be offering breakfast, canteen options and dinner options each day (at an additional cost) - in 2017 we had well over 200 trucks registered and we expect to exceed these numbers this year! - Trucks big and small, old and new, original and modified.....you name it they are there! -

    The 38th annual Athens Cornfest is Saturday Aug. 18th - it's the corniest-down-home country festival in Ontario. It runs 9 - 4 with cobs of zany kids activities; free zip line; free rock wall climb; continuous live music; great country food; vendors and crafters; free family day Main St. in Athens.

  • 80th Anniversary of 1000 Islands Bridge

    80th Anniversary of the Building of the 1000 Islands Bridge Presentation Come celebrate one of the many wonders of the 1000 Islands area. On August 18, 1938 the Thousand Islands Bridge opened, letting cars drive across between two great countries: Canada and USA. Eighty years later, on August 18, 2018, local historian Brian Phillips will be telling the story of the building of the bridge with amazing pictures and incredible facts. Both entertaining and informative. You won't want to miss it. Tickets are $20. Proceeds go to the Rockport Customs project. Doors open at 6:30. Presentation starts at 7 p.m. at the Lansdowne Community Centre, 1 Jessie St. A cash bar and light refreshments offered.

  • Sunday Concerts in the Park Aug. 19

    We are very pleased to announce another great season of Sunday evening concerts on our charming Hardy Park Band Stand. This coming summer, there will be 10 concerts in total making up our Sunday in the Park Series. We will begin on June 17th and will conclude the series on August 26th. The August concerts will begin at 6:30. As in the past, our rain venue will be the St. John’s United Stage located at 32 Park Street in beautiful downtown Brockville. There is no admission to the concerts but we do give audience members a chance to make a free will offering which goes to a local, registered charity of the performer’s choice. August 19 - Perpetual Emotion Quartet – this years “New Novice Champions” of the Ontario District Barbershop Harmony Society, the Perpetual Emotion Quartet will be returning to our series after delighting audiences last summer. Featuring Brockville’s own Ian Loughrey, these four gentlemen know how to charm an audience with their beautiful voices.
  • 1000 Islands Triathlon/Duathlon

    Welcome to the beautiful Brockville, City of the 1000 Islands. As one of the oldest and most charming cities in Ontario, Brockville is the perfect summer get-away – for all that the 100 Islands has to offer and for the Thousand Islands Triathlon & Duathlon! It's August 19th from 6:30 am - 2 pm starting from Blockhouse island. Cost $60.00-$150.00
  • Brockville Ghost Walks

    This Monday August 20th is the last of the Brockville Ghost Walks. The Ghost Walks will commence at the Hardy Park gazebo at 8 pm, and we will take you on a 3 km journey through Brockville’s haunted past. The walks are expected to be around an hour and a half, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. We suggest you also bring along a water bottle, an umbrella if necessary, a light jacket or sweater, bug spray and a teddy bear for the faint of heart. Join us as we retell the stories of Nancy Fraser’s “Mysterious Brockville.” Tickets on sale at the Brockville Tourism Office, located at 10 Market St. West.

    There is a Kiwanis Reunion Monday Aug 20th at the Bridgeview Restaurant, County Rd 2 east (Johnstown). Meet and green at 6 pm with buffet dinner at 7 pm. Cost is $25.   • Raising a Glass for the Brockville Museum

    Join us for “Raising a Glass for the Brockville Museum” a fundraiser at the Museum on Tuesday, August 21, 2017 at 7 p.m.! Sample locally produced craft beers, fruit wines, and spirits as well as a tantalizing array of amazing food – what could be better on a pleasant summer evening? This annual event, now in its eight year will be bigger and better than ever before! Blue Gypsy Winery, King’s Lock Craft Distillery, and for the first time Windmill Brewery will be here to help wet your whistle. Whet your appetite with tasty morsels from Brockville’s favourite restaurants, The Barley Mow, The Brockberry, The Georgian Dragon, The Nosh-er-y, and The Union Jack. Live music will be provided throughout the evening by Brockville’s own musician James Mackenzie. He will be bringing his keyboard along and playing many of his favourite tunes for you!
