Judge Dismisses Case Against Taylor Swift

A U.S. federal judge on Friday dismissed a lawsuit against Taylor Swift, who a former radio host alleged had falsely accused him of groping her.

“Taylor Swift did not act improperly,” said Judge William J. Martínez in Denver, ruling that David Mueller had “insufficient evidence Miss Taylor Swift acted improperly when she reported an assault she truly believed happened.”

Mueller was seeking at least $3 million U.S. from Swift, claiming she and her team pressured his radio station to fire him.

The judge did not rule whether Mueller touched Swift’s buttocks, as she has alleged in her countersuit.

The alleged groping took place in 2013 during a backstage meet-and-greet. Mueller testified he may have touched the pop star’s ribs but did not touch her inappropriately.

Swift, in her testimony, countered: “He did not touch my ribs. He did not touch my arm. He did not touch my hand. He grabbed my bare ass.”

Her bodyguard Greg Dent testified on Friday that he saw Mueller lift Swift’s skirt and put his hand underneath.

“I know I saw it,” he said, according to reporting on the trial.
