3 Men Dead After Falling Through Ice
One man is dead after a tragic ATV accident.
South Frontenac OPP report that 61-year-old Darrell Green died at the scene after going through the ice on his ATV on Buck Lake.
Green headed out to meet a friend on Saturday (March 11th) at a certain location on the lake, but Green never showed up.
The friend went out looking retracing the same route Green would have taken.
It was around 10:45 a.m. when the friend found a partly submerged ATV and helmet in a narrow section of the lake.
South Frontenac Fire and Rescue recovered Green's body from the icy water and next of kin were notified.
The OPP are still investigating, but do not expect foul play was involved in the incident.
The bodies of two men reported missing to Leeds OPP on Friday evening (March 10th) were recovered from Big Rideau Lake near Portland.
The men were in a truck and were believed to be heading to Cow Island when they went missing. They were last seen by family members at approximately 8am on Friday and were reported missing when they failed to return home that evening.
The deceased have been identified as 72 year old Michael Carty and 69 year old Doug Good both residents of the Portland area.
The investigation into the deaths is on-going, but fowl play is not suspected in the incident.
