34th Annual Palliative Care Telethon Sets New Fundraising Record
A new fundraising record was set at the 34th annual Palliative Care Service telethon.
This year's event raised $250,947 narrowly defeating the previous record set back in 2015 of $250,582.
Last year's telethon raised $233,782.
This is one of the two major fundraisers for the Palliative Care Program each year, the other being the Friends of Palliative Care golf tournament.
The annual budget for the palliative care service is $575,000.
Funding for the program is done entirely through local fundraising as the service receives zero provincial funding.
