Athens Community Bonfire Needs More Christmas Trees
One last piece of business before Christmas is behind us.
The Athens Community Bonfire is looking for more Christmas trees to stoke the town's annual bonfire.
The township has only collected around half of their normal amount of trees for the spectacle.
If you would like to get rid of your tree, you can drop it off at the site at Centennial Park; Volunteers will also be orchestrating daily pickups for trees left on the roadside.
Last year over 300 trees were involved in the bonfire.
This year's weather also threatens to stamp out another tradition with the snowmobilers’ torch procession likely being turned into a foot march due to the rainy conditions washing out the snow.
The big event is set for this Saturday (January 7th) starting around 8:30pm.
Everyone in Canada has heard the Tim Hortons controversy over the minimum wage increase in Ontario. Rick Mercer's rant is going viral!
It's Friday and here's a video to remind you that you probably didn't do too bad at work this week, because there's this guy! He just sort of stares at it happens!
A bad start gets even worse. It's a good thing that the profanity is bleeped because he drops a few of those after letting out a simple "nooo" right at the start.
