AUDIO: Province Must Move On 401, Says Prescott Mayor

Prescott Mayor Brett Todd is renewing his calls to add an extra lane of traffic in each direction on the stretch of Highway 401 where the tour bus crashed this week.

"The biggest problem right now is overall 401 congestion," says Todd to CTV News.  "We need more attention paid to the 401 down here and the biggest thing I think we need is that three-lane expansion."

A 54-year-old Chinese tourist was killed when the bus hit a rock cut at the side of the highway between Brockville and Prescott.

Twenty-three other people from the bus were injured -- with four of them remaining in hospital in serious, life-threatening condition.

Todd says the time has come to widen the highway, which has become dangerous and congested. Todd says there's been no movement on the issue from the provincial government.
