Augusta Township Offers Up Free Land to UCDSB
Augusta Township is hoping to keep an elementary school in the area and are offering the UCDSB an opportunity to make sure that happens.
Maynard public school is one of the twelve schools in the area that has been recommended for closing which has inspired the town to offer up 13 acres of land free of charge.
The hope is this land will be used to build a new school to replace Maynard instead of just closing down the only school left in Augusta.
The closure of Maynard depends on the province providing funding to expand Wellington Public school in Prescott, that is where students of Maynard would be transferred should no new school be built in Augusta.
