Autopsy To Be Performed On The Death Of Experienced Local Boater, Leeds OPP
An autopsy is being performed on a man after he went out in his canoe, and never returned.
James Robert Armour of South Crosby Township was reported missing to Leeds OPP on Sunday. They report he went out on Opinicon Lake and had failed to return to his home on Davis Lock Rd.
The 65-year-old mans body was found around 3am on Monday.
Police have not determined the cause of death, and say Armour was an experienced canoer who had a lifejacket on at the time. A post-mortem examination will be done at Kingston General Hospital.
The OPP are warning people that the water is cold, and hypothermia is a particularly significant risk right now. They say that if you do go out to wear a lifejacket.
