Bob Runciman Set To Lead The St. Lawrence Parks Commission
A familiar face has been appointed to be the new Chair of the St Lawrence Parks Commission.
Former Senator and local MPP Bob Runciman has accepted the job. He will begin his four-year term immediately.
The commission oversees heritage and tourism along the St. Lawrence River, including Upper Canada Village and Skywood. The appointment announcement was made on Tuesday by the Minister of Tourism and Culture Michael Tibollo.
In a statement MPP Steve Clark praised his predecessor saying he's the "perfect choice."
"With decades of public service at the municipal, provincial and federal levels, no one understands our region better or the importance of Parks Commission's attractions in supporting our local tourism economy and quality of life," says Clark.
"I look forward to working with Bob, his fellow commissioners and Parks Commission staff to enhance the visitor experience and let tourists everywhere know that we're open for business."
Like the song goes: "We're just tiny little specks..."
We're not sure Michael Bublé thought things would go so smoothly when he handed out his mic to a man in the crowd.
Ain't this the strangest thing. This cat sounds better than a whole bunch of wanna be singers out there.
