Brockville Braces For Another Winter Storm

Don`t put those shovels away.

A Winter Storm Watch has been called for Brockville, Prescott, Gananoque, Mallorytown, Merrickville-Wolford and Kemptville, as well as much of Eastern Ontario.

Environment Canada says a `Winter Storm Watch` is classified when multiple kinds of storms happen all at once in one area. Leeds—Grenville could see 25-35 cm of snow on Tuesday into Wednesday, along with strong winds gusting to 80 km/hr.

Severe Weather Meteorologist Ryan Rozinskis says the majority of the heavy snow fall will happen throughout the day on Tuesday.

``By the time the sun sets on Tuesday, looking at about 10-15 centimetres on the ground,`` he explains. ``And that will continue to pile up, looking at totals as we get into Wednesday up to 30 centimetres.``

Rozinskis says after that the snow should remain light throughout the day on Wednesday.

He says that those totals aren`t likely to heavily change over the next 24-hours.

``It`s a pretty good agreement in the forecast guidance,`` he says.

Environment Canada is a warning against making any travel plans, but if you do Rozinskis says to check your route. This storm is stretching across Eastern Ontario up to North Bay, while Toronto is expected to get ice pellets and freezing rain.
