Brockville City Council Back BGH's Expansion Funding Request in Full
Brockville City Council will be putting their money where their mouth is in terms of the BGH expansion.
At last night's meeting, council decided to accept the hospital's full funding request of $4.76 million.
This is on top of the $10 million the Hospital Foundation is expected to provide.
In total the community must chip in $18.5 million.
The money will be used to help fund the Brockville General Hospital's upcoming expansion which will consolidate its services into a single campus on Charles Street and increase the number of beds in the facility by 22.
Construction is set to begin this winter, the project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2020.
