Brockville City Council Gets Slight Bump in Salary
Brockville's city council saw a slight pay raise in 2016.
The nine member council cost taxpayers over $207,000 last year, compared with just over $205,000 in 2015, an increase of 1.23%
Council's expenses were also up close to 14.5% from just under $20,000 in 2015 to close to $23,000 last year.
Mayor Dave Henderson saw the biggest increase in salary, it was up 5.8% from 2015 to just under $63,000 this past year.
The mayor's salary however includes 1/3 tax-exempt portion for expense allowances, which lowered his salary down to just over $40,000 for 2016.
The eight other council members saw their pay rise from $17,500 to $17,700 an increase of 1.45%.
