Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:

  • Brockville - Prescott
  • Gananoque - Mallorytown
  • Merrickville-Wolford - Kemptville
  • Westport - Charleston Lake

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts.This afternoon may bring severe thunderstorms as a cold front moves through.

The main threat is damaging wind gusts of 90 to 100 km/h.

Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Hail and locally heavy rain are also possible. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. 

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

Tonight: A few showers with thunderstorms ending this evening then mainly cloudy with 60% chance of showers. Risk of severe thunderstorms early this evening. Wind west 20 km/h becoming light after midnight. Low 14C.

Thursday: Mainly cloudy. 60% chance of showers in the morning. Wind becoming northwest 30 km/h gusting to 50 in the morning. High 18C.
