Brockville Mourns Loss of Super Volunteer
Brockville has lost another super volunteer.
Valerie Kines passed away Tuesday night just after 9 pm.
Valerie served a term on Brockville City Council and ran unsuccessfully for Mayor in 1997.
She opened "The Second Cup" and ran it successfully for a number of years, she also served on the board of several other organizations including the Brockville Public Library.
Valerie was the driving force behind Habitat for Humanity in the area and was named Senior of the year in 2015.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, August 26 at St. John's Church in Lyn followed by a party.
Valerie is survived by her four sons David, Peter, Andrew, Stephen.
