Brockville Police Nab Hit and Run Suspect
Brockville Police received some help from the public in order to catch a hit and run suspect
Cops received several 911 calls around 6pm Monday evening (June 5th) after a small silver Volkswagen lost control and smashed into a parked vehicle on Buell street.
Instead of leaving insurance info or calling police, the driver sped off at a high speed after causing significant damage to both vehicles.
Shortly after, police located the suspect vehicle in the southeast area of the city.
Officers arrested a local, 20-year-old man and charged him with dangerous driving and failing to remain.
Officers also believed alcohol was a factor, but the suspect refused to provide a breath sample, leading to an additional charge.
He was released on a promise to appear with a future court date.
