Cost Revealed For BGH Redevelopment
The cost to redevelop the Brockville General Hospital has been revealed.
The price tag is expected to come in at around $162 million.
Of that $162 million, The city of Brockville is expected to cover $4.7 million.
Ontario's health ministry will cover most of the cost contributing over $143 million, with the community expected to cover the remaining $18.5 million
The renovation will consolidate the hospital's services into a single campus on Charles Street.
The new wing will double the size of the Charles Street Site, increasing the capacity by 22 beds, to 170 total.
If everything goes according to plan construction would begin in the fall, with the hospital ready for use in 2020
