Critical Injuries In Halloween Collision

A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a Halloween night collision in Edwardsburgh-Cardinal.

At 6:45pm police report receiving a call about a two-vehicle crash on County Rd 22, at Brouseville Rd. A 69-year old man from Augusta was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Constable Suzanne Runciman says the stretch of road was closed until 2am for the subsequent investigation.

"The information I received is that one of the vehicles and the vehicle where the fellow was most serious injuries, he was reversing out of a driveway," she says. "On Halloween night, it was dark, it was also misty out, making it difficult for the drivers to see each other."

Runciman confirms the second driver, 27-year-old Ottawa male, was sent to hospital with minor injuries.

No charges have been laid at this time.
