Distracted Driving Blitz Planned for March Break

Don't touch that cell phone, OPP say a distracted driving blitz is in the works for March Break.

They say distracted driving remains a leading cause of death, killing 55 people on OPP patrolled roads in 2018.

Last year's campaign resulted in 2,470 charges for distracted driving across the province.

Fines for texting while driving got stiffer earlier this year, drivers can now face a $615 dollar fine and three demerit points upon first conviction.
