Fatality in Local Boating Race
Tragedy during a boat race over the weekend.
A 69 year old Minnesota man died while racing in the Rideau Ferry Regatta
The incident occured around 2pm on Saturday (August 19th), police believe the boat was competing in one of the races, became airborne and the driver was thrown overboard.
He was taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries.
His identity has been withheld until his next of kin have been notified.
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the OPP
