Friends of Palliative Care Golf Tournament Another Big Success
The weather was perfect for the 24th annual Friends of Palliative Care Golf Tournament, which exceeded it's fundraising goal this year.
260 golfers hits the links at the Brockville Country Club and when all was said and done this year's event raised $210,000 for palliative care in Brockville, beating their goal of $180,000.
This year's event also beat last year's fundraising total which was $187,000.
The record number for the golf tournament was $649,000 back in 2015.
The palliative care service budget will be over $600,000 for the first time ever next year.
Less than 1% of that will be provided by the South East Local Health Network which chips in $57,000
The mass majority of the budget comes from local fundraising events like the golf tournament and the 30 hour telethon which raised $250,000 earlier this year.
