Heat Warning Issued For Leeds-Grenville

Environment Canada has Issued a Heat Warning through Eastern Ontario.

It's expected to last through to Friday afternoon, in Brockville, Prescott and Merrickville-Wolford.

Maximum daytime temperatures are forecast to hover around 31C, but are expected to feel closer to 40C with the humidity. Overnight minimum temperatures are forecast to remain near 20C providing little relief from the heat. 

A cold front Friday night is expected to break the streak.

Officials say to take care during this time.

"The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors," read the statement.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
