LeSueur Passes On Another Council Run
Another councillor is announcing he won't be seeking re-election this fall.
David LeSueur, Brockville councillor and former chairman of the Brockville Railway Tunnel Committee, made the announcement on his personal Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.
He says he's decided because his "family and career need attention."
LeSueur says he will be sticking close to home.
"I will continue to help make Brockville a better place through the many avenues available," he says. "There is also council after I retire but right now my wife and family are happy to have me back."
LeSueur says his wife has been supportive through his two terms, and when he first ran he told her that's all he would be doing.
In April, LeSueur announced he was stepping back from his role on the tunnel committee for personal reasons, and said he was still mulling whether he would run again.
