OPP Bomb Squad Pulled Into Squatters Den: Police

Brockville Police say a call for overdose led them to call the OPP bomb squad on a house occupied by squatters.

It happened around 9:45pm Wednesday, when police got the initial call for an overdose on Pearl St.

Officers then discovered the home had gun powder, a firearm, an air pistol, a stun gun, pepper spray, along with several rounds of ammunition.

But that wasn't all.

They say they also found an "unknown military ordinance," which Brockville Police confirm was live and successfully removed by the OPP explosive unit.

Police say a 25-year-old male and a 27-year-old female are facing weapon and drug charges.

The overdosing male was treated by paramedics and transported to Brockville General Hospital.

The investigation is on-going.
