OPP Release Results For Distracted Driving Campaign
A lot of people in the area paid the price for using their phones while driving this month.
The OPP conducted a distracted driving campaign over March break and issued over 2400 distracted driving related tickets in that time frame.
In Leeds and Grenville 50 tickets were issued which is a slight decrease from last year's campaign which saw 55 handed out.
In Brockville a total of 4 distracted driving tickets have been issued in March.
In total, the OPP have tallied 65 people who died due to distracted driving collisions in Ontario last year.
The current fine for distracted driving is $490 with an added three demerit points upon conviction.
