Police Say Youths Facing Assault Charges

Officers say there have been a number of assaults by youth dating back to September.

A report says that on September 12, police received a complaint about an altercation at a local high school. They say two 14-year-olds, a 17-year-old and a 13-year-old are all facing charges and have all been released with conditions.

In a statement, the Brockville police say they continue to "work closely with our local school boards to ensure the safety of staff and students."

They have also charged a 15-year-old female after a violent altercation on Monday. The victim reported to police that they were kicked in the head and punched while being thrown to the ground off their bike. The accused is currently in custody facing charges.

Police are also investigating an assault on Tuesday at noon on Stewart Blvd and Central. They say a video circulating has helped them identify the suspects and a 17-year-old male will be facing charges in connection with it.

Names of the youth can't be released under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
