Unusual Time For RIDE Check Point Causes Police to Make 2 Arrests

An odd time for a RIDE program caught at least two wrong doers by surprise.

Leeds OPP led a RIDE check stop on Jessie Street in Lyn around 4pm this past Monday (February 27th).

This led to the arrest of a 23 year old man from Frankville who was charged with Possession of Marihuana. He is scheduled to appear in Brockville court on March 31st.

During the same R.I.D.E check at the same location a 34 year old man from Lyn was found to be in possession of a suspended license. He was given a future court date to answer the charge.

The OPP are reminding motorists that RIDE checks, and traffic enforcement will continue to be a focus at any time or location within Leeds County.

  • Scooter Hit and Run

Scooter hit and runs are now a thing in London. Certainly not as intimidating as hardcore biker gangs, but a serious problem nonetheless.
  • Stylish Cannabis Commercial

Marijuana will be legal in Canada come July 1st, so maybe we will see more and more commercials like this one.
  • Gruesome Broken Ankle

Boston Celtics' Gordon Hayward broke his ankle on opening night against the Cavaliers and it looked awfully painful. Not for the faint of heart.
