Wall Street Village Complex Construction Officially Underway
It was 26 years in the making but finally construction is moving ahead on the proposed Wall Street Village complex.
Construction got underway recently with the ceremonial sod turning taking place yesterday (April 20th).
The 85 unit facility between Victoria Avenue and Wall Street is meant to provide affordable housing for seniors, in fact 30 of the 85 units will be rent-geared-to-income units subsidized by the counties.
The project is expected to cost $12.65 million, the bulk of that being funded through a $7 million mortgage from Infrastructure Ontario.
The facility will be ready for occupancy by the summer of 2018.
