Bystanders intervene after man suffers cardiac arrest at local rink
A 48-year-old man is in critical condition after he went into cardiac arrest while playing hockey at the Minto Sports complex Saturday evening.
Paramedics say bystanders and staff at the rink initiated CPR and were able to deliver a shock to the man using a nearby public access defibrillator.
Responding paramedics were able to treat him on scene and continued resuscitative treatment on his way to hospital.
