Francois Legault, CAQ win in Quebec
Quebec has a new government.
CTV can confirm the Coalition Avenir Quebec will form a majority government in La Belle Province.
Francois Legault and the CAQ have unseated Phillipe Couillard's Liberals, making it the first time since 1970 that a party other than the Liberals or Parti Quebecois are in power.
Legault and company dominated rural Quebec and Quebec City.
CAQ has promised to raise the legal age for purchasing marijuanna to 21, spend $400 million on high-speed internet, reduce immigration and make immigrants take a language and values test three years after arrival.
63 seats is needed for a majority government in Quebec. The CAQ looks to have won 70 tonight.
