Gatineau Police officers formally charged in separate investigations

Formal charges have been laid by the DPCP against two Gatineau Police officers arrested within the past year.

Nicolas Marceau is facing two criminal charges of breach of trust and one of unauthorized use of a computer to search databases for personal reasons.

Marceau is accused of using Gatineau Police computers for this purpose between 2014 and 2016, including providing information to a woman about her former spouse, and to a friend about her neighbours.

A second officer in that investigation has been cleared.

Meanwhile, an off-duty officer who officials say was found asleep at the wheel of his vehicle on Maloney last December has been charged with impaired driving.
