Hate crime reports can now be filed online: Ottawa Police

People in Ottawa can now go online to report hate crimes.

Ottawa Police announced the activation of the new system today.

They pledge to review submissions within 24 hours of being filed.

In a statement, police say this will help officers better understand the trends of hate crimes in the city, and could aid in prevention.

Chief Charles Bordeleau says community partners have requested this and he's "pleased to see it being implemented."
