Kanata man arrested and charged on child pornography offences

A Kanata man has been charged with multiple child pornography offences.

Around mid April, the ICE unit of the Ottawa Police were conducting an investigation into a peer to peer network that was sharing images and videos of child porn.

An ICE investigator identified an IP adress that was located in the southern Kanata area that was allegedly sharing hundreds of files of suspected child porn.

A search warrant was executed today.

After examination of the man's digital devices, police say they found an "extensive collection" of children being sexually abused.

The suspect has been identified as 43-year-old Vazrick Nazari.

Nazari is charged with the following:

  • 2 Possession Child Pornography s. 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code
  • 1 Access Child Pornography s.163.1(4.1) of the Criminal Code

He is scheduled to appear in show cause court tomorrow.
