Local business accuses Mayor of bringing "egg rolls to a bagel fight" in Sens/Rangers bet

Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson's NHL playoff bet with the Mayor of New York may have landed him in a little bit of hot water with a local business.

Hot, boiling, honey-sweetened water.

Kettleman's Bagel Co. issued a light-hearted statement today wondering why Watson is countering Bill De Blasio's bet of New York City bagels with Golden Palace egg rolls.

Really @JimWatsonOttawa? Egg rolls to a bagel fight? We need to discuss this... https://t.co/XwjLxIZx7E #Ottawa #OttNews pic.twitter.com/1Xsn8ckf21

While Kettleman's is complimentary of the city's iconic chinese food staple, they argue the bet is a missed opportunity to settle the score between NYC-style bagels and Montreal-style bagels.

Kettleman's favours - and makes - the honey-sweetened water-boiled latter as opposed to the New York water-boiled alternative.

In the event "an Ottawa series win eludes us," the business is urging the Mayor to hand over two dozen of their own concoction.
