Markham man drowns in Ottawa River
Ontario Provincial Police say a 22-year-old Markham man has died after drowning in the Ottawa River.
Police were called to Owl Rafting, in the Foresters Falls area, Friday evening, after a swimmer had gone under the water and didn’t resurface.
The man was found and CPR was performed, but he was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.
Police have identified the man as Charles “Chuck” Ozulumba.
The Office for the Chief Coroner of Ontario is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Renfrew OPP.
Foul play is not suspected.
