Ottawa Senators move on to round 2
Clarke MacArthur made a triumphant return to the ice just in time for the playoffs and on Sunday he became the hero of round one.
The Ottawa Senators beat the Boston Bruins 3 to 2 in overtime with a big power play goal from MacArthur.
The 32-year-old sat out 156 regular season games over two seasons as he dealt with multiple concussions and had even considered retirement.
The Sens move on to round two and will face the New York Rangers starting on Thursday.
Captain Erik Karlsson said the team will use their downtime to their advantage.
"We're going to use this (off) time well and we're going to prepare to play New York here in the second round, and we've got to keep pushing forward," said Karlsson, who admitted after the game that he played the entire series with two hairline fractures in his left heel.
Tickets for round two go on sale on Monday at 10 a.m.
