Ottawa spending more time in traffic congestion

If you've been stuck in congested traffic in the last year wondering if it has gotten worse, you wouldn't be wrong.

A new study released by Inrix looking at traffic in 1,064 cities around the globe ranked Ottawa at number 150.

This is a big jump as Canada's capital was ranked 227 in 2015.

The survey shows drivers spent an average of 31.5 hours stuck in congestion in 2016.

In Canada, Montreal ranks first overall for most time spent in traffic at 52 hours a year.

That is followed by Toronto and St John's and then Ottawa.

In the world, drivers in Los Angeles spend just over 104 hours a year stuck in gridlock.
