Police lay 2nd degree murder charges in Elmira Drive shooting
Ottawa Police have charged a 19-year-old man with second degree murder in a west end shooting death.
According to police, Brayton Kennedy was arrested on Monday afternoon and made his first court appearance on Tuesday.
Kennedy is accused of shooting Jacob Thompson, 40, to death at a home on Elmira Drive on September 24th, 2016.
Police had initially charged Brianna Kennedy, 20, and Geneva Kennedy, 39, with accessory after the fact, as well as obstruction.
According to Postmedia reports, Geneva Kennedy spent 90 days in jail while charges against her daughter were dropped.
