Prepare for a winter storm on the way
Mother Nature is set to deliver an early Valentine’s Day gift for snow lovers.
Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Ottawa-Gatineau, Renfrew-Pembroke, Prescott and Russell, Smiths Falls-Lanark and Cornwall-Morrisburg areas.
Ottawa could see 30 to 40 cm of snow Tuesday into Wednesday. The Brockville, Gananoque, Kingston, Napanee, Picton and Bancroft regions will get between 25-35 cm of snow.
The weather agency says a Colorado low will cross Southern Ontario Tuesday morning and Wednesday, bringing snow and strong easterly winds. The strong winds, likey up to 80 km/h, will cause reduced visibility on roads across the region.
Ottawa has already received 125 cm of snow in 2019, including a record 101.8 cm in January.
The weather agency says snow will begin early Tuesday around midday, and continue into the day on Wednesday.
