UPDATE: Police search for vehicle in relation to Kanata shooting

Ottawa Police say they are looking for a white Jeep Cherokee in relation to a drive-by shooting at Kanata Centrum.

A 28-year-old British military officer was hit in the leg and a 22-year-old man suffered minor injuries in a parking lot near the Crazy Horse bar at about 2:15 a.m. Thursday.

It's believed they were not the intended targets.

Police say ay least 17 rounds were fired from a newer-model jeep.

The British officer is in Ottawa for a shooting contest being held at Shirley's Bay, located not for from Kanata Centrum.

Investigators are trying to determine what happened before the shooting.

Yellow police tape surrounded a van in the parking lot. It was towed away from the scene just before 6 a.m.

The Guns and Gangs Unit is leading the investigation.
