UPDATED: Ottawa man a three-time Jeopardy! champ
An Ottawa man is now a three-day Jeopardy! champion.
Grant McSheffrey has successfully defended his Tuesday night title two nights in a row, winning a total of $69,201.
On Thursday night, he gave the correct question to this Final Jeopardy answer: "The name of this popular beer brand founded in 1897 is a reference to the 20th century."
McSheffrey was the only contestant to correctly write "What is Dos Equis?" winning him $15,801.
After years of playing trivia, McSheffrey said he decided to take the online Jeopardy test last January.
He was summoned for an in-person interview but was still shocked when he got the call, inviting him to be a contestant.
"I saw my phone saying Culver City and I'm like that's where they tape Jeopardy," says McSheffrey. "I almost shoved my daughter out of the way. I'm like I gotta get this."
Months after the taping, McSheffrey watched his first Jeopardy win back at home at a local pub Tuesday evening. He was the toast of a viewing party in Westboro Thursday night.
