15,500 kg of undeclared tobacco seized at Peace Bridge
Over 15,500 kilograms of loose leaf tobacco has been seized at the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie.
Canada Border Services officers stopped a tractor trailer on January 22nd - they were told it was hauling cardboard boxes.
Once officers began to examine those boxes, they discovered 132 boxes of undeclared tobacco worth an estimated $1.2 million.
The investigation is ongoing.
