51 Niagara residents wait for live-saving organ transplants

51 people across Niagara are waiting for a life-saving call.

Carol Morningstar from The Life Donation Awareness Association of Niagara tells CKTB many people believe they are organ donors, but they are not properly registered.

She says a lot of people are still carrying a piece of paper around will them thinking they are registered, but in fact they need to go online at www.beadonor.ca or mail a form to the government.

Morningstar appeared before Niagara Falls Council this week encouraging residents to become an organ donor.

Her daughter Andrea had a heart transplant at the age of 24.
